"Women are the real and direct victims of all problems," Adivasi reform activist and member of the Gothra Mahasabha CK Janu said at a press conference held at Regional Theatre yesterday as part of International Film Festival VIBGYOR.
'Women and livelihood in South Asia' was discussed at the conference.
The people who belong to the Adivasi tribal groups are not coming to the main stream politics, she said.
"Livelihood is not a feminine subject. It's is a universal phenomenon," anti-mining activist Dayamani Barla from Jharkhand said.
Filmmaker and activist of Deccan Development Society Lakshmiyamma from Andhra Pradesh said that through her film, she is trying to show the benefits of natural seeds and disadvantages of chemical fertilizers.
This is her third VIBGYOR. Dalit feminist and research scholar from Delhi University Carmel Chrisity shared her experience as an activist on the occasion.
